I know in my last post on self-imposed deadlines I spoke about how to keep to deadlines seeing them more as miniature milestones and goals, I have taken my own advice and put pen to paper for my goals – and because they are published on the internet I have to stick to them right? (‘OH GOD’ runs through my head right now). So here are my 2017 goals (I don’t like the word resolutions)…

  1. Look after number one – ME! I must admit saying this is a goal can seem selfish to some but as the God RuPaul puts it “if you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?”
This year I am finally going to begin investing more time in myself, making a better version of myself. For years I have had a direction in terms of going to university with the end goal of graduating and work etc. Right now I don’t have that kind of direction, and I think I can’t go wrong if I invest some of this time in myself – learning to love myself,  my health, my body, my mind. I have been pretty poorly over the last eighteen months with intolerances that resulted in me having extremely bad acne (it has cleared thankfully after a lot of patience, time, dermatologist appointments and not eating food that can trigger breakouts!) so I am going to invest time into making sure I am as healthy and happy as possible!
  2. Blog more. I think I said this one last year, but I AM GOING TO STICK TO IT! I absolutely love writing on here because I can express whatever it is that’s going on in my little head, so I’m going to do it as much as possible.
  3. Smile more. This is something my Mum says to me all the time, I am willing to try it 🙂
  4. Learn calligraphy. I see so many beautiful photos of inspiring quotes on Pinterest and Instagram of swirly writing that I want to try it for myself – watch this space.
  5. SAVE MONEY! I need to stop spending money on pointless shit basically! Like food – if I’ve made a salad for lunch why do I need to go to M&S and buy the exactly same salad to have instead? If I save money, I can buy beautiful new things like a Gucci Dionysus bag 😛 (or maybe not, must save!)
  6. Keep an open mind and stay positive. I can get negative with certain aspects of life whether it is work or relationships, and I start to self-destruct which is by no means great! It’s a vicious circle and I am going to start teaching myself to look at the bigger picture of situations and see the positives.
  7. Continue to work out as much as possible. I workout on a regular basis, so I am going to keep to it and introduce new classes like yoga to keep my routine exciting so I don’t loose interest (which occasionally happens).
  8. Travel somewhere new. I didn’t travel anywhere in 2015 apart from a weekend in Newcastle and trips to London. This year I am craving the sun, foreign culture, new sights, everything! Whether it is a city break to Berlin or somewhere more luxurious like Dubai.
  9. Drink more water. We all say it!
  10. STICK TO THESE GOALS AUTUMN! I would love for this last one to say something like fall in love with Prince Charming but I don’t believe in fairytales haha! I have set myself these goals because they are achievable and I can reach them when I put my mind to it – staying focus is the main thing for achieving these goals and I am ready.

I must admit I am already pretty excited to look back on the year (2017) because I want to be in a completely different place to where I am writing this post – probably still walking around with my dressing gown over the top of my clothes, but with a real direction and great outlook on life!

I would love to hear what your goals for 2017 are, so comment below.

Happy 2017 goal reaching!
