Wow it’s been a long time since I have posted anything up on here – deep apologies it’s been hectic the last few weeks, I know you’ve all missed me dearly! (yeah right)

What’s been going on I hear you ask, well a bit of this and a bit of that really.

I had my last News Production deadline last Friday where I had to put together a portfolio of news stories including a court story from Nottingham Crown Court, a feature and also a video – a video?! I do words not video cameras, I mean I can handle still cameras and take decent selfies (I hope) but it was so damn difficult. I managed to grasp hold of the basics and got some footage of Stonebridge City Farm in Nottingham which was hosting a week long eggstravaganza for Easter – I had so much fun seeing all the animals – the lambs, chickens and rabbits so damn sweet, so hopefully the whole video is what my lecturers want to see (and score me high :P)

That deadline is now out the way, only two more left of my second year at uni – where has the time gone? I mean I haven’t even partied as hard as I did in my first year spending countless days hungover (must be done in first year) so why has this year gone so quick, even though 99% of the time I’ve been sober and attending lectures. The nights where I have gone out (I could literally count the times on one hand) have been the best nights ever! Like when my brother and his best friend Max come up to Notts to see Julio Bashmore; it was THE sickest night! (Excuse the bad use of English language).

While I’m busy researching my last two essays – one easier than the other (always the bloody case), I’ve been juggling working at The Body Shop and also Mark came up to see me woo! I did feel bad though as I was working the whole time he was here, even bank holiday Monday but I was thinking of the money and said I would pay him back through Starbucks – endless amount of Starbucks that is, could get pretty damn expensive (opps, but we love coffee!)

Anyway, he got up here late Friday night as he too was working during the day. So we were up bright and early on Saturday (as I had work) but to also hit up Starbucks! I needed something super yummy as I had developed a super snotty cold and it was making me feel like sh** – Starbucks always brightens up a day; so if anyone is fed up of my moodiness just bring me a salted caramel mocha (no cream) and I’ll be super happy 😀

After Starbucks I headed to work, and it was THE longest 4 hour shift imaginable, no lie! Knowing that someone has come to see you and you had work really did suck! But we made up for lost time by planning to do new things and go to new places in the evenings we hadn’t been too before. After work I really fancied a takeaway so we went to the nearest one which is literally next door to where I live and what a miracle my koria was too me; ‘Goodbye Mr Cold’ yes! No more feeling like rubbish and having a tissue up my nose 24/7 haha!

Sunday, another day I had to work 🙁 but we made sure our night was lovely and special by going to Pizza Express – it’s not the fanciest of restaurants but it is the company that always makes things better and boy did I have great company (slushy yes) haha!We started with dough balls to share with garlic butter and sun-dried tomato dip (delicious), then calzone (it was absolutely huge and I had never had one before – it was like a pizza flipped in half; super doughy!) and then sharing a chocolate sundae for pudding – hello eyes bigger than our bellies! (Standard for Mark and myself!)

Huge Pizzas!

It was so lovely to actually sit down and talk about the stuff myself and Mark normally talk about – either cars, a project on grand designs that caught our eye, houses, pugs, the summer holidays or food – that is us summed up in one! I joke really, there’s more to us than those things (but they do always come into conversation.)

We strolled through Nottingham’s Old Market Square – probably one of Nottingham’s most pictured places apart from the statue of Robin Hood I imagine – but it is just so iconic and it makes me feel like Nottingham isn’t that bad after all.

Nottingham is always so buzzy (if that is a word – well it is now) and living in the city right next to uni is the best despite the vibration in your toes from tram going past every 5 minutes or hearing the overly loud drunk people heading to Ocean on a Wednesday night or hearing the clock in Old Market Square chime every 15 minutes (so loud).

On Monday we really pushed the boat out – you know us, it has got to be about food! We have always wanted to get a cake from Paterssie Valerie (a french cake shop with beautiful designed and made cakes). We decided Monday would be the day to indulge in a shop we always walk past and have a peek in the window at all the delicious cakes. My inside food monster (uncontrollable sometimes) jumped for guns!

Perfect Presentation.

It was insane and well priced too with small cakes starting at £2.90 (takeaway)! We both had the double chocolate dream gateau… WOW! My mouth was full on having a party – I have never tasted anything so delicious, and it was huge and topped off with a white chocolate filled profiteroles (YUMMY!). I ate it all and felt pretty sick after – could you blame me though? You would definitely eat it all I know you would (don’t make me feel bad and say no).

Heaven!!

Heaven!!

You know that looks insane and YOU WANT IT! Go check out your local patisserie you will not be disappointed!

It was a perfect ending to our weekend together (the way to my heart is food as it was definitely perfect haha) and because we had a super savory burrito at BarBurrito at lunch time we had to have something sweet like the cake from the Patisserie – do you every get that? I hope you guys do otherwise I seem fully strange right now! haha!

BarBurrito is our fave lunch!

Another weekend, enough food to keep me hungry for weeks, many laughs and with super great company – just what the doctor ordered – it did get rid of my cold after all!

BnW A and M

So end of second year is coming up, time to knuckle down and get on with my essays (SIGH! I just want to spend my evenings watching Netflix and sleeping) and hit the gym hard ready for the summer and work placements yay! More about those once completed in the next couple of months!

Until next time…

Peace out.
